Forbes Magazine has compiled and released the list of richest people in Africa 2011. The billionaires are mostly South Africans, Nigerians and Egyptians.
Forbes names Aliko Dangote as the richest person in Africa 2011. Along with this honor title, he is also the Nigeria’s richest person and 58th richest people in the world. 53-year-old Aliko Dangote owns as much as $13.8 billion which grew 557% over the last year. The fortune comes mostly from his interests in textiles, oil, real estate and cement. Recently, he has bought a Bombardier aircraft as a birthday present for himself at $45 million.

Nicky Oppenheimer, who works as the chairman of De Beers diamonds, owns interests in the gold mining company Anglo American plc and Tswalu Kalahari Reserve. He has the fortune of up to $7 billion
